Watching TV on PC - No PCTV cards

We used to say that technology is advancing so fast that now one can watch satellite TV or hear radio on a home PC. All we need is special hardware known as PCTV cards to be installed in the PC or plug into the PC’s USB port.

However, there is no need of this anymore.

Very latest technology invented by some young computer geek has made it now possible to watch Satellite Channels actually on the net wherever you may be as long as you have internet connected.

Only a piece of software is required to be installed into your computer.

So it is no longer a scam when ads read that Satellite Tv is free.  Yes I couldn't believe it but after testing out, I agree subscription is no longer needed.  But I think Satellite TV companies are keeping very quiet hoping it doesn't affect their business.

Reviews - Satellite TV on PC

I have always wanted to catch up with the news in my office or in my study room and now I can do just that.  My kids also do not ned to  fight over the remote as they watch their favourite matches over their pc instead.  What a relief!

I tried 3 different packages initially including two I bought from ebay but gave up as they totally didn't meet my expection.  Too blurr and inconsistant.  Finally I got into 3 other packages and now I'm satisfied.

The points I look for in my review are as follows:-

  • Image Quality & Definition
  • Variety of Channels
  • Customer Service
  • Channel Loading Time

Premium TV for PC

This is the latest package in the market just out April, 2008.  It comes with 5,000 channels for the price of 3,000 channels for $49 one time.  Looks like the most attractive so far.  Initial reviews from buyers is good.

Digital TV on PC

This package gives good selection and channels.  It gives a sample of CNN news which I like to run while I'm doing my work.  I used to keep the ad on just to read the news.  But my internet connection has been slow dueto some problems and sometimes the ad hangs.  But the actual program is OK

The price of $39 is good and if you are lucky and keep the order page on for afew minutes sometimes, the offer of $29 comes out.  Grab it if you see it.  It's really a good discount.

Satellite TV on PC- Elite Package

Most of my friends bought this package and raved about it.  I think it is probably the best of all the 7 packages I tried.  Price is $49 for the Elite, $39 for the cheaper version and $99 for the Titanium version which I have not tried.   I watch the Fox TV a lot using this (everyday).  At least an hour while I'm in the office doing some other work.  I watch some good chinese movies too once in a while.  Many Chinese channels from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.

Satellite TV on PC- Titanium Package

I haven't bought this but it is basically an upgrade of the Elite Package.  There are more channels added and they have included other bonuses that they claim makes it the best in the market.  The premium package so to say.  Price is $99

Satellite TV on My PC

This is a new package where the price has been reduced to $29.90 only.  The variety of the channels is good.   It is the latest offering in the market.  I watched CNN and a few other documentary channels.  They say they have 5,000 channels but I doubt we will even see more than 10.

PC TV For ME  PCTV4Me

A new package that is attractively priced from $29.90.  Good selection and shows cearly all channels in one place.

SatWizz

This is a new package that emphasizes on support.  They are constantly updating the channels every 2 weeks.

DishTVforPC

This is a brand new package in the market that is very attractive especially for US viewers.
